Monthly planning meetings for the Social Committee occur on the second Monday of each month at Pilgrim Center (3807 Gillham Rd), 7:00pm.
Neighborhood Night: Home Composting Workshop

All are welcome.
The next Neighborhood Night will be a special Home Composting Workshop at Pilgrim Chapel. Join us to learn about composting basics like using food waste to create soil, what items can be composted, and types of home compost bins. Katy White from the Climate Council will also do a live demonstration!
This event is FREE, but RSVP is required, which includes food and drink. Please have each attendee register separately, so we can get an accurate headcount.
Membership is not required for this event, but you’re still welcome to RENEW your membership for 2026 if you haven’t already done so!

In the late 1970’s, young couples began moving back into the neighborhood. The Hyde Park Yacht Club was born as an informal social group with an ironic name. Every month or so, a neighbor would host a party and invite other urban pioneers. At these gatherings, neighbors frequently shared their home restoration trials and tribulations as well as the challenges dealing with crime in an unrestored neighborhood.
50 years later, the HPNA Social Committee is proud to renew this old community tradition and all residents of Hyde Park are invited to attend!
